About Strong Tomorrows
We’re on a mission to help one young family at a time.
How It Started
Strong Tomorrows began offering services in 2014 at Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa under Communities In Schools of Mid-America to support expectant and parenting students.
During the 2014-2015 school year, a Site Coordinator networked with students to launch services. After serving 22 students in the program's first year, we expanded to East Central High School, serving 31 students between both schools and continued to grow based on local birth rate charts.
In 2017, Strong Tomorrows became an embedded program of Tulsa Public Schools, launching two more sites to support students in the wake of the closure of Margaret Hudson- a school for pregnant and parenting students.
Over the past 10 years, Strong Tomorrows has steadily grown and served over 1,459 expectant and parenting students at 20 sites. As the program continues to expand to additional districts, we remain committed to providing support to expectant and parenting students through advocacy, case management, and education.
Our dual-generational approach is designed to guide students and their children to success in life, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community for years to come.
Mission
Strong Tomorrows is dedicated to empowering and equipping expectant and parenting students with the necessary resources and support to achieve success in life. Our comprehensive approach includes high school graduation/college and career readiness, young parent engagement, health and wellness, and access to quality childcare and early education.
Vision
Our vision is to equip our expectant and parenting students with the tools for success. This includes academic support to obtain a high school or college diploma, career readiness skills, personal growth, strong parent-child engagement abilities, and health and wellness habits. By providing the essential support and resources, we aim to help our students build a strong foundation for a fulfilling life and a bright future for themselves and their young family.
